Summer Festivals

KW Multicultural Festival
, Early June
Every summer for nearly 40 years this community has celebrated ethnic diversity and all its wonders. A weekened of fun at Victoria Park, the multicultural festival is a local favourite.  Enjoy the aromas of all sorts of international cuisine, and take in the festivities and cultures of hundreds of different countries all in one park.   Contact 519-745-2531 for more information.

Downtown Kitchener Ribfest & Craft Beer Show,
Late July
Samples or entire meals of chicken and ribs with craft beer and live entertainment. Many craft breweries are showcased at the BBQ Cook-off including professional teams.  Beer samples beer require a one-time purchase of souvenir sample glass for $5. BBQ'd food ranges from $6-$20.

KidSpark Festival, Mid August
A free festival for all kids with the emphasis on "hands on fun". Plenty of live entertainment, and numerous activities including make and take crafts, learn to draw comic style, make a wax mold of your hand, and rock wall climbing.Victoria Park, Kitchener.

Arts Festival, Mid August
Waterloo Festival of the Visual and Performing Arts with displays and performances, including: Canadian and international music, comedy, dance and circus performance artists. A showcase for painters, sculptors and photographers to exhibit and sell their work to the public. Hands on activities and workshops, including painting, sculpting and circus arts. Location Waterloo Park, West Side.Admission free.

Waterloo Busker Festival, Mid August
A gem which is not to be missed. Enjoy wandering Busker's in UpTown Waterloo over a whole weekend.  Watch contortionists, mimes, and fire breathing buskers throughout the day and night.  A favourite of all the locals, the Busker festival is definately an event to put in the calendar.

Fall Festivals

1914 Fall Fair, Mid September
The Fall Fair, held since 1957, recreates the atmosphere of the 1914 fair which showcased period animals, farm machinery, farm cooking and crafts. Enter your best baking, handiwork or preserves in competition for cash prizes. Call the museum for entry categories and prize lists. Enjoy the musical entertainment, penny carnival and the living history village.  The Fall Fair is held at The Doon Heritage Crossroads.  Admission is free and call 519-748-1914 for more information.

Oktoberfest, Mid October
All the usual fun of Oktoberfest plus too many additional events to mention, including a car show, bands, fashion show, Miss Oktoberfest Gala Ball and many, many more.   All events are located at the 15 Festhallen located throughout the Kitchener-Waterloo region.
