The Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) is a customer friendly facility centrally located in the heart of Canada's Technology Triangle bordered by each of the tricities of Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo.

The airport is easy to navigate with modern amenities including wireless high-speed internet, ATM dispensing Canadian currency,  vending machines, complimentary luggage carts and well lit, monitored Pay'N Display Parking lots located just meters from the terminal building.

Rapid Transit

The leaders of Waterloo Region would like to see a light rail rapid transit system implemented across the city.  On May 15, 2004, the Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario and the Region of Waterloo jointly announced funding of up to $2.5 million for the Region of Waterloo Growth Management Strategy and Transit Initiative Technical Studies and an Individual Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Rapid Transit Initiative.  The Region has commissioned a number of studies to determine if Rapid Transit in Waterloo Region is feasible, such as the Central Transit Corridor Feasibility Study and the Project Delivery Framework for Implementing Rapid Transit.  The project, to assess whether or not we can bring rapid transit to Waterloo Region is well under way.
